Overview
Built Health Profile intelligence for doctors, improving chronic care workflows and increasing investigation speed by 40%.

What problems do doctors face?
To validate our hypothesis, we conducted in clinic visits to understand how doctors investigate cases and uncover their key pain points.

“I forgot to bring my report today, doctor ! ”
Doctors need the full story
Diagnosis relies on past clues and present data, yet 7 out of 10 consultations begin without complete information because patients forget to bring prescriptions and reports.

“I just need to know LDL, FBS, HDL?”
PDF’s is not for doctors
Healthcare has digitized, yet doctors still rely on static PDFs, spending valuable time scrolling and zooming to find a single parameter.

“Ok where is Amay Sharma’s patient file?”
Case files don't scale
Physical records create operational inefficiency, consuming space, deteriorating over time, and becoming unmanageable as patient volumes grow.
Subtle but Important Observations
colour mannerism
Doctors were hesitant to use the app because the bright orange branding felt overwhelming in a clinical setting. A more neutral and calming visual tone was needed to build comfort and trust.
Doctor consultations
On average, doctors conduct around 500 consultations per month, spending 5 to 6 minutes reviewing reports in each session. Even small efficiency gains here could create significant time impact.
Introducing Health Profile
Introducing a digital perspective to doctor investigations, powered by trend and correlation views that seamlessly support their workflow and improve efficiency.
User Flow
Discovery of the feature
Since 20% of doctors begin by checking report status, embedding the Health Profile within the Orders page ensured natural discovery without interrupting their flow.
Health profile
Doctors can access a complete digital case file with the latest readings and a structured timeline. Features like trend analysis, correlation views, and digitized reports enhance clarity and speed.
Design Walkthrough
Reading parameters made powerful
We introduced specialty-specific parameter groups at the top, showing latest and previous readings. The Trend view shows value changes over time, while the Correlation view displays related parameters together for better understanding.
The first half of the screens is designed to covered 80% of the information that is needed to begin consultation
Case files digitized
A chronological digital case file that patients can easily share with their doctor. This timeline securely stores prescriptions, observations, and lab reports in one place.
We digitized case file management within the app, making medical records safe and effortless to maintain. Any test or report generated within the system updates automatically, without requiring manual effort.
Lab Report made interactive
An interactive way for doctors to explore lab reports with filters such as Bookmarks and Out of Range, along with Profiles and Search to improve navigation and readability.
Every parameter component is built to support deeper insights, enabling trend analysis, correlation views, and bookmarking directly within the report.
Discovery of the feature
Based on observed usage patterns, we introduced a Health Profile widget that provides a quick preview of the patient’s profile, along with a clear call to action to explore the complete Health Profile.
We tested the design with 100 doctors, and their feedback directly shaped the development of a key feature.
problem
Patients often bring physical or digital lab reports from other labs, but there was no way to integrate those reports into our system in the structured format we designed.
Solution
We introduced a report upload feature. Once uploaded, Eka Care processes the report, extracts the relevant values, and presents them in our structured format for doctors to review seamlessly.
Impact & Learnings
Drop in reschedules
Patients with a Health Profile no longer needed to carry physical files, reducing friction during consultations.
virtual consultations
The feature enabled smoother virtual consultations, with increased usage through WhatsApp sharing and screenshots.
quicker analysis
Doctors reduced investigation time from 5 to 6 minutes to just 1 to 2 minutes per consultation.
adoption
Within the early phase, 20 % of patients adopted the new Health Profile, making their consultations significantly more seamless.
